The purpose of this "cookies" policy is to meet the requirements of the amended "Data Protection Act" and the General Regulation on the protection of personal data ("GDPR") with regard to the use of "cookies" by BRUNEAU, by providing you with exhaustive information on this subject.

1. What is the cookie policy and what is its scope?
During your visits to the websites and other digital environments of BRUNEAU, cookies may be installed on your device (computer, tablet or smartphone). Cookies may also be placed on your device via e-mails sent to you or when installing software or a mobile application.

2. What is a cookie?
Cookies are small text files that are deposited, stored and/or read by the browser of the internet user on the hard disk of his/her device when the internet user visits a website, installs an application or uses software or a mobile application.

This notion is retained regardless of the device used by the internet user, i.e. fixed or portable computers, digital tablets or smartphones. Similarly, the concept of a cookie and the related regulations apply regardless of whether or not the device collects personal data, which is, however, often the case in practice.

On a technical and functional level, we distinguish 5 categories of cookies:

- cookies for technical use, which respond to an action on your part on the website and are necessary for the use of a service or for gaining access to content;
- identification and tracking cookies, which allow us to get to know you better and recognise you when you visit our website;
- analysis and performance cookies, which allow us to measure various things, such as the number of visitors or the pages they visit;

Technically speaking, there is a wide variety of cookies, such as http cookies, flash cookies, fingerprinting, invisible pixels or web bugs. This list is not exhaustive.

3. What is the purpose of a cookie?
Cookies that may be placed or read on your device, are mainly intended for the following three functions, which are illustrated by various examples:

Purpose 1 - The proper functioning of the service(s)

- Study of technical statistics to monitor the proper functioning of the service;
- Identification of error messages to remedy any technical problems;
- Requirement for the user to re-authenticate after a certain period of time to ensure the security of the user's account.

Purpose 2 - Improving customer experience (UX)

- Pre-fill functionality for each visit to improve the quality and speed of the user experience;
- Optimisation of the ergonomics of the digital environment concerned or the various functionalities proposed;
- Settings for the use of this environment based on the user's preferences in order to provide the user with his own navigation environment, for example by remembering the default language used;
- Research on the statistics provided by these cookies in order to continuously improve and adapt the service to each user and guarantee him a better experience.

Purpose 3 - Economic function

- Sending of personalised advertisements based on user searches;
- Statistical overviews and surveys concerning the proposed advertisements;
- Study of the activity derived from this digital environment: number of daily connections, connected profiles, most frequented time slots, etc.

4. Who is responsible for cookies?
BRUNEAU places and reads cookies on your terminal. Insofar as the latter may involve the processing of personal data, BRUNEAU acts as a data controller within the meaning of the applicable regulations.

Third party cookies, i.e. those issued by others than BRUNEAU, may also be deposited when you use our digital environment or when you click on the advertising areas that appear there.

Although the concept of cookies is retained irrespective of whether or not the device collects personal data, in practice this is often the case.

The cookies likely to be read or deposited on your device by BRUNEAU or a third party issuer of cookies may involve the collection of the following personal data:

- identification data (IP address);
- login data (logs);
- navigation data;
- language of the internet user (not his/her mother tongue);
- identity and identification (surname, first name, date of birth, user ID, session ID);
- contact details (email, postal address, telephone number, in particular when they are collected in order to establish a profile of the internet user or to ensure that he/she does not re-enter this information on another website);
- location data (in some cases).

BRUNEAU complies with the requirements of the Data Protection Authority concerning the retention of cookies, which may not exceed 13 months from the day the cookies were placed.

- Cookies that Bruneau has placed on your device: Bruneau undertakes to delete or anonymise the personal data once this period has expired.
- For cookies placed by third parties, Bruneau undertakes to check that the latter respect the aforementioned retention period, over which they alone have control.

Cookies have the particularity of being subject to two sets of regulations: regulations specific to cookies and those applicable to personal data when such data is being processed. The rights you have with regard to cookies are conferred on you at both levels.

8.1. Regulations regarding cookies
Under the regulations applicable to cookies, you have the following rights:

- a right to information regarding the purposes of cookies, as set out in article 3 of this policy, and the means at your disposal to oppose them, as set out in article 10 of this policy. We ensure that you can obtain this information by placing a banner on our digital spaces relating to cookies, a "Learn more" page allowing you to configure them and by inserting a link to this policy;

- a right to consent to the storage and reading of cookies on your device, it being specified that this consent does not apply to cookies for technical use, i.e. cookies that are strictly necessary for the provision of our services or whose sole purpose is to enable or facilitate electronic communication. However, BRUNEAU requests your consent for cookies related to targeted advertising operations, social network cookies and audience measurement cookies. Your consent is obtained when you continue to browse our website, i.e. when you click on a page;

- a right to configure the use of cookies on your device in order to accept or refuse all or part of the cookies likely to be read or deposited, whatever their nature and origin, in accordance with the method detailed on the "Learn more" page to which our cookies banner refers and in article 10 of this policy.

8.2. Regulations applicable to personal data

You have a number of rights with regard to the personal data that are processed when certain cookies are read or placed.

These rights are:

- a right to ask BRUNEAU for confirmation that data concerning you is being processed, to access this data and to request a copy;
- the right to have inaccurate or outdated data rectified;
- the right to have this data erased if you have objected to its processing by refusing to read or place cookies on your device.

However, you do not have the right to obtain either the restriction of processing or the transfer of your data, as the conditions for exercising these rights are lacking in this case.

BRUNEAU takes all necessary technical and organisational measures to prevent the unauthorised destruction, loss, alteration or dissemination of data processed in the context of the use of cookies in our digital environments.

In the event of a breach of the data processed through cookies, BRUNEAU undertakes to notify the Data Protection Authority under the conditions prescribed by the GDPR. If the breach presents a high risk to the data holder, BRUNEAU undertakes to notify him/her and to provide him/her with the necessary information and recommendations.

With regard to the use of cookies by third parties, BRUNEAU undertakes to ensure that the placers of cookies fulfil their obligations in terms of personal data security, by means of appropriate contractual provisions and, if necessary, by carrying out checks.

This policy may be amended or modified at any time in case of legal and jurisprudential changes in the decisions and recommendations of the Data Protection Authority or practices.

Any new version of this policy will be brought to the notice of online users by replacing the old version of the policy with the new one.
