Which paper for which type of printer?

In order to choose the correct paper, you need to distinguish multifunctional paper from specialized paper (laser or inkjet).

Inkjet paper : a specific treatment of the surface is responsible for a fast drying process. The absorbency level is perfect for obtaining vivid colors. Ideal for generously colored prints. Laser papier : this paper is designed in order to resist against the heat of the laser system of a copier or a printer. There is no deformation of the paper when it comes out of the device. Perfect for a fast treatment of texts or colored images. Compatible formats : yes, of course! The question of format should be asked when purchasing reams of paper. A4, A3, A5… It is essential to list what you need but it is especially important to check the compatible formats of your printer to avoid any unpleasant surprises on arrival.

Which paper for which use?

If we want to find the right paper, we also need to take stock of the use we will make of it.

Photo papier : The best combination is photo paper and the inkjet printer. It is THE duo that gives the best results. White multifunctional paper : for daily use, particularly for simple applications (fax, mail, copies, scrap paper,…) or for more accurate work (reports, presentations). It can be used for double-sided printing in copiers, laser and inkjet printers. The main difference is the level of whiteness of the paper. This type of paper is very practical, it is suited for every use. Color paper : for a more dynamic communication. It exists in vivid or in pastel colors and it has an excellent print quality.

The different paper weights

The standard weight is 80 g. The higher the paper weight, the more value you will give to your documents.

Between 50 and 75 g/m² : Ideal for mailings. Ecological paper weights that save energy(transport) and consume 25% less resources. 80 g/m² : For your daily prints and copies. 90 g/m² : Ideal for double-sided printing, thanks to the better density. Between 100 and 120 g/m² : For all your presentation files, thanks to a better resistance Between 130 and 210 g/m² : For covers and large color prints. When the paper weight is higher than 220 g/m² , we arrive in the category of cards and cardboard. 220 g/m² and more : Above 220 g / m² we are in the category of cards and cardboard.
On the finish side it is more a matter of taste: glossy, semi-glossy or matte coating, the choice is yours. For your information, glossy or semi-gloss paper is generally better for photo printing.
